Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 Teased: What to Expect and What’s Missing
A new update for Cyberpunk 2077 is on the horizon, although features like New Game Plus and support for the PS5 Pro will not be included.
Excitingly, Cyberpunk 2077 is set to receive another update approximately a year after the release of its previous major patch. The details for Update 2.2 were announced through the official Cyberpunk 2077 social media accounts. A dedicated livestream called REDstreams will provide more information later today, December 10, at 8 in the morning Pacific Standard Time / 4 in the afternoon Greenwich Mean Time / 5 pm CET. Fans can catch the livestream on CD Projekt Red's official Twitch and YouTube platforms.
While anticipation grows, it is unclear what specific features Update 2.2 will introduce. However, it has been confirmed what will not be included. Marcin Momot, the global community director, clarified on social media that support for the PS5 Pro and New Game Plus will not be part of Patch 2.2. He expressed this by stating that there are indeed other exciting developments being worked on, which will be revealed during the stream.
It's important to highlight that the lack of PS5 Pro support has already been acknowledged earlier by the developers. As for New Game Plus, while it may have been an appealing addition, it would not align with the narrative logic for the character V to start the game already equipped with advanced enhancements.
The positive aspect is that Update 2.2 is expected to bring more than just basic bug fixes. With an entire livestream dedicated to discussing its features, players can look forward to substantive enhancements. Previous major updates have introduced elements like V’s apartments, vehicle combat, new driving activities, and a quest that ties in with the acclaimed Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime.
