WhatsApp Enhances iOS Experience with Drafts Label and New Home Screen Widget

The recent updates to WhatsApp for iOS bring significant enhancements to user experience, particularly with the introduction of an innovative Drafts label and a new home screen widget. These features aim to streamline communication and simplify the process for users to handle their discussions without unnecessary scrolling.

Thanks to the recent update, users of iOS can now quickly access drafted and unsent messages with a convenient Draft label, positioned next to any affected chats. This addition significantly reduces the time spent searching for unfinished messages, allowing users to efficiently navigate through their conversations without opening each chat individually. The new functionality is included in WhatsApp version 24.22.83.

The Draft label feature was initially previewed in the beta version 24.18.10.72 that some users accessed through TestFlight, and it is now accessible to every iOS user. This enhancement makes it immediately clear which conversations contain unsent content, allowing for a more organized chat experience.

Additionally, the update introduces a new widget feature for iPhone's home screen, allowing users to categorize their chats effectively. The widget enables sorting by different classifications, including Recents, Favourites, Pinned, and Frequently Contacted chats. This approach leverages the iOS widget API to deliver real-time updates and enhances overall system integration.

Though the draft label has been confirmed, there are reports that the new home screen widget may not be consistently available yet. WhatsApp indicates that the rollout for these features is expected to continue over the upcoming weeks, so iPhone users may see varying availability as the update progresses.
