WhatsApp Introduces New Sticker Features for Enhanced Creative Expression on Android and iOS

WhatsApp has rolled out a variety of new features aimed at enhancing creative expression for both Android and iOS users. In collaboration with the US-based online platform Giphy, the messaging app now provides access to a vast collection of stickers. Android users, in particular, can also utilize a custom sticker maker that allows them to design their own stickers. Additional improvements include enhanced organization of stickers and the ability to create them using Meta AI, the conversational assistant powered by artificial intelligence found in Meta's applications like WhatsApp and Instagram.

In a recent announcement, WhatsApp shared innovative methods for users to better convey their feelings through stickers. Giphy's extensive collection is now integrated into the messaging service, making it easier for users to discover relevant stickers without leaving the app. By tapping on the sticker icon, they can search for stickers that fit their needs.

The custom sticker maker feature has finally reached Android users, following its earlier launch for iOS users in January. This allows individuals to choose an existing image and enhance it with elements such as cutouts, text, or drawings. Users also have the option to modify stickers they've created in the past, which are stored in the sticker tray.

For users who don’t find a suitable sticker for expression, the AI-powered sticker creation functionality can be utilized via Meta AI. This capability is currently accessible on both Android and iOS in the US, and it also supports two additional languages: Spanish and Bahasa Indonesia.

To improve the management of stickers, WhatsApp has made it possible to preview new sticker packs in a more organized manner. These new stickers can now be viewed beneath the already downloaded ones in the sticker tray. If users wish to change their arrangement or remove them entirely, they simply need to long-press a sticker to manage it.
