Google Translate Review. Say Goodbye to Language Barriers!

There are very many translation apps for iOS and Google Android phones. I know this because I have tested a number of them. However, none of the apps I have tested has impressed me as much as Google Translate has. Find out why Google translate has become my traveling companion in this review.

Interface

Google Translate has a very straightforward user interface. It is clear what different UI elements do, and I like the fact that the interface is not crowded with too many user options. The design is also well executed, the layout of both the iOS and Android app fits perfectly on the screen. Apart from this, the user interaction with the app is very natural because all the different elements of the app are self-explanatory. You really don’t have to be a genius or a tech expert to get it. 10/10.

Features

Google Translate has plenty of useful features. First and foremost, it features conversation mode. This feature makes it possible for you to communicate back and forth with someone as the app listens to what you are saying and translates it. Another impressive feature of this app is the word lens feature that translated words and phrases on signs posts and text overlaid on printed text. All you have to do to use this feature is to point your camera towards the words you want to translate. In addition to this, the app stores your translation history and also gives you the option of flagging anything you want so that you can access it fast in the future even when offline. Last but not least, the app features regular text translation for those who prefer to input texts.

This app is compatible with iPhone, iPad, tablets and Android devices. 10/10.

Performance

One of my favorite things about this app is its consistent performance. Both the App Store and Google Play app for this tool work without any problems and they are very accurate. Personally, I have not experienced any problem with the app in terms of hanging or stopping while I am using it. Google is always trying to improve the app. They are constantly updating the languages by adding more choices. In fact, the latest version has more languages than previous ones because the developers are trying to stay ahead of the competition. 10/10.

Pricing

Google Translate is a free to download app, and it doesn’t have any in-app purchases.

The Verdict

Google Translate is without a doubt the leading language translation app. The app is polished, easy to use, very reliable and extremely useful. I can’t think of any drawback when it comes to this app. It does exactly what the developers say, and it works well. I would recommend it to frequent travelers who travel to different countries, and they’d like to learn a new language, language students and anyone who is interested in learning new languages. You will be glad you made the decision to get the app. It is available on the App Store or Google Play Store depending on which device you are using.
